The Bones, Muscles, Sprains & Strains CME Conference, America's number one physical therapy event, is slated to visit Orlando's Walt Disney World from June 11-14, followed by an October 8-11 conference at San Antonio's Riverwalk. Both conferences offer physical therapy professionals the opportunity to enjoy continuing education in an environment perfect for a family vacation.

This year's presenters make up a dynamic list, including:

  • Scott Frischknecht, PA-C, DFAAPA
  • Martin Healy, MS, PT, ATC
  • Jeremy Johnson, MBA, BFA, CMRP, ATC
  • Jesse Neiheisel, PT, DPT, CERT.MDT, MTC, CSCS
  • Mary Vacala, PA-C, ATC, MSPAS, DFAAPA

Scott Frischknecht will be talking about diagnosing acute knee injuries, including importance of knowing patient history to ensure proper diagnosis. Frischknecht says that combining patient history with the answers to some basic questions that only take a few minutes to ask, affords a quick and accurate diagnosis in most cases. He says there are seven different things to pay attention to during the diagnosis stage, all of which you can learn about when you attend this year's conference.

Mary Vacala's presentation will deal with the very sensitive issue of treating children. Vacala recognizes that x-rays are not always accurate when dealing with younger patients, making it necessary for practitioners to treat based on age, patient history, and the mechanics of the injury. When you attend this year's conference, you will glean a lot from this presentation.

Other topics of discussion are as follows:

  • Derangement vs. Dysfunction: An Integrated Approach to Orthopedic Spinal Rehabilitation Using the McKenzie & Paris Methods of Examination & Treatment – a “Hands On, Hands Off” Approach
  • How to Increase Practice Revenue by 30% With Durable Medical Equipment & Other Ancillary Items
  • When & How to Incorporate Orthotic Management Into Lower Extremity Dysfunctions at the Foot Ankle & Knee

About the Venues

Attendees of the Orlando event will be hosted by Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The conference takes place at the Coronado Springs resort in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Guests can take advantage of free transportation to and from all Disney parks, reduced park tickets, Extra Magic hours, and so much more. This event is a great opportunity to combine your annual family vacation with your continuing education needs.

In October, the San Antonio River walk is the ideal setting for a fall conference. The Riverwalk is a warm and welcoming area combining beautiful fall foliage, extraordinary cuisine, plentiful cultural events, and more. Moreover, because the Riverwalk is just below the heart of the city streets, all of San Antonio is easily accessible from the conference site.

We encourage physical therapy professionals from all over the country to make plans to attend this year’s Bones, Muscles, Sprains & Strains CME Conference. If you have already made the decision to attend, don't wait too long before making your reservations; space fills up very quickly due to the quality of this event.

Hope to see you there!
