First Aid Kits for Summertime Accidents

Summertime is officially here!  Camping, boating, travel, picnics in the park, fun at the beach, hiking through the woods...summertime is the best time to get outside and enjoy life.  This joy can be easily spoiled, however, when accidents happen and no one is prepared.  Because of our increased activity, there is also a higher chance of strains, sprains, cuts and scrapes, burns and sunburns, along with insect, animal and marine life bites and stings.

A first aid kit is always valuable to have on hand year 'round, but is especially handy in the summertime.  This should be the first thing you pack whenever you travel or head out to engage in your fun in the sun activities.  A first aid kit should be in your car at all times, while you should also have one on your boat, at your campsite or within handy reach of wherever you travel and roam this summer.  Bandages of all sizes, antiseptic and antibiotic sprays and ointments, compress dressings and gauze pads, cloth tapes and wraps, cold packs, lubricating gels and scissors are just some of the basics to include.  Pain-relieving medicine and other kinds of medicine such as antihistamines are great to have in your kit, as are a cell phone with a battery charger and a flashlight with extra batteries.

Rehabmart offers quite a few different first aid kits to fit your individual needs. If you prefer a heavy-duty kit, the Mueller Medi Kit 100 may be the perfect choice for you.  This is a metal case that features a sturdy metal divider in the base to keep aerosol cans upright during travel.

You can choose to buy the kit empty and fill it with your own supplies, or you can choose the "complete" kit that comes fully stocked with first aid supplies.  This kit is perfect for keeping in a designated location such as the trunk of your car, inside your camper or RV, or in your house.

If you prefer a softer, cloth material kit, I recommend the Mueller Sport Care Soft Kit.  Made of tough, water-resistant poly fabric, the adjustable inner compartments, mesh enclosure and zippered outside pockets  hold the first aid supplies securely in place.  This kit also comes empty, or complete with all the first aid supplies you need to be prepared for any emergency.

Because of the shoulder strap and hand grips, this is a more convenient first aid kit for people on the go...you can easily carry this kit with you wherever you roam.  Designed specifically for athletic trainers, this kit is also perfect for Little League coaches and other summer sports' enthusiasts.

Another great choice for people who are serious about being prepared for accident and injury is the Mueller Carry-On Medi Kit.  This kit is specifically designed for travel and is made of durable water-resistant material which makes it great to take on boats and have around water, too.  The runner on the bottom of this kit helps protect it and keep it off the ground, while the padded and adjustable shoulder strap can be attached to carry it in comfort.

Elastic loop holders and removable dividers help to keep supplies in place and maximize organization.  This kit also features front and side pockets that have clear pocket zipper liners which facilitate easier access and storage.  The Carry-On Medi Kit measures 18 inches x 9.5 inches x 10.5 inches and the central compartment capacity of a whopping 795 cubic inches combined with the outer pocket capacity of 422 cubic inches allows you plenty of space to keep all of your favorite first aid supplies.

Don't let an injury or minor accident ruin your fun this summer...be prepared with a First Aid Kit from Rehabmart.  It's always better to be safe than sorry!
