It is the month of May and the flowers are now blooming and preening while bobbing about in the sun and wind of nature, and the kids will soon be following the lead of the flowers, themselves running and playing outside amongst the grass and fields of play.

Exercise, especially outdoor exercise, is very important to the development of the bodies and minds of children. Getting children away from the computer, iPad, iPhone, and television screens is important. Outdoor exercise helps to build up muscles, helps with balance, creates better interaction with other children, allows children to feel the freedom of running and jumping, and even learning the experience of the pain of falling down, scraping knees and elbows, and then getting back up to continue in what they were doing before.

Rehabmart is proud to offer products to help children learn and experience fun and interaction by providing almost 200 playground products to be used in school systems, hospital and medical facilities, governmental facilities, child care facilities, neighborhood parks, recreation centers, and even backyards of private homes. Children need a place to play and Rehabmart can help fulfill that need.

The following are just some examples of outdoor and playground equipment that kids can climb, slide, balance, swing, chase, and interact upon.

First we have some playground equipment for the little ones to safely play on and enjoy, such as the Spring Rider Horses and the Rock-N-Ride Animal Spring Rides. These classic playground rides have delighted children for decades, allowing kids to bounce and move back-and-forth, making believe they are riding on a horse, zebra, motorcycle, bird, dolphin, shark, car, and even a crocodile.

After riding a crocodile into the sunset, a kid can run to the Geo Dome Climber and start climbing in the jungles of his imagination, improving his strength and motor skills while swinging around the dome.

When a group of kids get together, they can play an interactive game of throwing a ball into the Funball playground equipment and wait to see which of the three openings the ball will come out. Funball also has a fully ADA-compliant model for children who may have limited mobility.

Often a neighborhood park will have a place for the family to gather, eat and have fun, while the kids play on the swings to fly high in the air and clouds of their imagination. Rehabmart can offer both swing sets and picnic tables to any municipality park or recreation area and as an added benefit, Rehabmart can offer wheelchair accessible swing platforms and wheelchair accessible picnic tables so the whole family can have outdoor fun together.

For school systems who want to offer a great way for kids to exercise and burn off some energy during those nice weather days, we have two examples of a cardio workout with a twist of fun aimed at middle school age children.

The Aztec Climbers Playground Equipment consists of molded polyurethane panels that won’t get hot during the sunny days while also providing shade for the climbers. Large climbing holes surrounded by Aztec symbols make this playground equipment fun, interesting and thought-provoking. The curved panels are large enough to support a classroom amount of children at the same time.

For a complete workout during gym class, a school can offer the 12-Unit Fitness Course Playground Equipment which is a collection of high-carbon steel units (except the aluminum balance beam), for kids to climb on, vault from, swing on, slide down, and do sit-ups, balance, and interact with other grinning and sweating children.

With its seven play activities of slides, climbers, and tunnels to roam and play, this outdoor equipment is great for pre-school, daycare centers, churches, nursery schools, parks or playgrounds.
