Since its founding in 1976, Southpaw Enterprises has designed and produced products for people with DSI (dysfunctional sensory integration) and other neurodevelopmental issues to use in therapeutic settings, schools, or at home under a therapist's guidance. However, just because clients are performing serious tasks to prepare them for the challenges of everyday life doesn't mean they can't have fun in the process. Southpaw designs its products with both fun and functionality in mind, offering engaging and entertaining therapeutic solutions for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

The  Flying Purple People Eater is made of durable purple and black fabric and resembles a beach cabana that hangs from the ceiling, allowing children who enjoy small spaces to swing securely. A ridged insert for the bottom provides stability as the user sits or kneels. Once the side access zipper is closed, the child may rock back and forth while shifting his or her weight around to make the People Eater swing and spin. The People Eater has a capacity of 200 pounds. For even more fun and further stimulation, special optional therapy balls may be added.

Each of the Activity Panel's components is designed to provide multisensory stimulation along with a chance to practice upper body gross motor and tracking skills by pushing a car along their curving roadway. The Tactile Panel provides items with an assortment of textures such as ropes, a foam letter, resistance tubing and an abacus to provide stimulation by touch.  Music lovers will enjoy the stimulation of the Sound and Music panel which comes with a xylophone, a drum, bells, and other small instruments as well as some beads and plastic animals. The Fiber Optic panel has glow in the dark stars and a unique marble panel backlit by LED fiber optics. All three panels come with plastic cars for use on the roadway. They are constructed from Baltic birch and may be purchased separately or as a set of three. The panels are suitable for use on the floor or as a wall-mounted unit and measure 90 inches long when used as a set.

For therapeutic multitasking, the Steamroller Kit can't be beaten. It allows a user to work on bilateral coordination, sensory stimulation, motor planning, and heavy work all on one piece of equipment. The Kit consists of a ramp made from ten rollers and two side panels along with a stand-alone platform with two six-rung ladders and a rope for the heavy work. It can support up to 300 pounds. The platform allows the ramp's height to be adjusted by the therapist to provide each child with a challenging, but skill-level appropriate activity. The Kit's components may be purchased separately.

Southpaw's products focus on creative solutions to helping differently abled people learn the skills they need to live a good life. In addition to their product line, their mission includes educating and informing those interested about SDI and related challenges, believing that sharing information will lead to a better understanding of these issues, as well as innovative progress in their treatment.
