According to the American Heart Association, February is American Heart Month.  For many people, celebrating American Heart Month means finding better ways to achieve a healthier heart.  For others, American Heart Month may mean love is in the air, with February 14th being the epicenter day of love.  Both of these celebrations are valid and true, but one thing the heart does very well is to pump our life's gravy...blood.  So, in that vein of thought for American Heart Month, we will be talking about Blood Drawing Chairs.

Although the name of these chairs doesn't often evoke pleasant thoughts and fond memories, they are an important piece of medical furniture for both the patient and the Phlebotomist.  Having blood drawn should be done in the quickest and most painless way possible and having the right tools for the trade is an awfully big help, hence, having a good blood drawing chair can be important for both a patient and Phlebotomist's time together.  Rehabmart offers a number of blood drawing chairs for the medical community.  The following are only a few examples offered.

The Clinton Wheelchair Blood Drawing Chair is primarily used for patients in wheelchairs, but it can also be used with a stationary hospital chair.  The one inch square all-welded steel frame holds a 360 degree non-locking swing arm which can be adjusted to different patient heights, while this station also offers a 300 pound weight capacity.  This blood drawing station is easier and more efficient to use in a busy clinic where many people will be using wheelchairs, and when not in use it can be folded up against the wall to save office space.

The Back Saver Tall Blood Chair lessens the pain in the back for many Phlebotomists.  With its 26 inch taller seat, the interchangeable armrests that can be set up for either left or right hand use, a convenient front rail patient footrest, a 360 degree pivoting armrest, and a weight capacity of 300 pounds, this chair makes the act of drawing blood easier and faster for both the medical professional and patient.

The Brewer Blood Drawing Chair is helpful for medical professionals because of the two add-on work surfaces to help accommodate paperwork, blood vials, and prep materials.  These add-ons, as well as the chair itself, have surfaces that are made with chemical, bacteriological and fungal resistant material and are easy to thoroughly clean before the next patient arrives.  Designed for patient comfort with its 2 inch think foam cushions and a 350 pound weight capacity, this blood drawing chair is perfect for a busy medical office or clinic.

The Clinton Bariatric Series Blood Drawing Chair can accommodate patients weighing up to 700 pounds with the help of its additional depth and extra center support for some added strength.  The adjustable height and depth flip arms make it easier for both the patient and technician, with the armrests able to be locked in place when in use, and then flipped out of the way for an easy and comfortable exit.  With the American population becoming larger every year, a bariatric blood chair is a good investment for any medical clinic.

Let February and the American Heart Month awareness campaign be the catalyst you need to create a healthier heart with proper diet and reasonable exercise. Let American Heart Month be a wonderful reason to show more love to others and oneself.  And finally, let American Heart Month be the perfect time for medical facilities to review their blood drawing chairs to see if better equipment can make a typically unpleasant endeavor a much better experience for both patients and medical workers alike.
