Set up is easy and can be accomplished in minutes either by manually using the base console, or by using the PC set-up CD that is included with the SilverCare system.  When you need 911 assistance, you simply press the dedicated 911 button on your watch, pendant or base console and you will immediately be able to talk live with a 911 operator.  If you need assistance other than 911, you simply press the Priority Help button that you have pre-programmed, and you will be able to talk live with your loved one or neighbor.  This ability to actually converse with the people on the other end of the phone is a huge advantage over other medical alert systems that only allow you to push a "panic button" or call for help.  You have no idea if the person on the other end got that message or not with those kinds of systems, but with the SilverCare system, you can actually converse back and forth, being able to give much more information while also being able to receive it when you need it.

The SilverCare Medical Alert system also provides assistance in daily non-emergency living as well.  Features include medication and/or appointment reminders, an ability to remotely turn on or off a light, hands-free calling and call-answering.  No more having to try to get up quickly and rush to answer the phone, possibly injuring yourself in the process...you can now just use your watch or pendant to answer or make phone calls!  You can easily input data for ICE (In Case of Emergency) to be stored in your system, so that this information about allergies to medications and existing medical information about yourself is handy and accessible to anyone who may have to help you in an emergency situation.  Each system can support up to 4 watches and/or pendants, so others in the household can also benefit from the security and freedom that the SilverCare system provides.
