Electric Wheelchair Lift for Home or Car

If you are confined to a wheelchair and are restricted to the ground floor of your home, or have difficulty getting in and out of the car, you could probably use an electric wheelchair lift. You may have limited mobility, but why should you have to be left behind, if there is a solution to getting where you want to go. Now you can enjoy your home and the ability to leave it, if you want.

A Stair Lift

 Probably the most common lift for your home is the stair lift.  If you have been confined to a wheelchair due to illness or injury, you may be restricted to the ground floor. To add insult to injury, you cannot even sleep in your own bed. You have been sleeping in the study, the living room, or maybe your dining room has been converted to a bedroom. If you are like me, recovery or acceptance of your situation would be a lot easier simply by making life as normal as possible, which includes sleeping in your room.

Thank goodness someone saw a need and invented the electric wheelchair lift that can be installed directly to the stair wall. The chair can be safely positioned on the lift platform, for the ride to the top of the stairs or back down to the bottom. To keep the chair from rolling off the lift in transit, safety ledges are locked into place while the lift is in motion. Then, if the time should come, through rehabilitation, that the lift is no longer required, it can be easily uninstalled and the stairway wall restored.

Auto Electric Wheelchair Lift

 Did you know that the disabled in Japan are often restricted to one room of their homes for the balance of life? Alternatively, many are placed in an institution. The idea of having a disability and being independent is a foreign concept to many residents. But, you do not have to be sequestered in your home. Thanks to the auto electric wheelchair lift, you can get out and do many of the activities most people take for granted.

The type of vehicle electric wheelchair lift depends on your personal circumstances. If you drive, the lift can be retrofitted to a van specially designed for physically challenged drivers. However, if you are a caregiver for someone who is confined to a chair, the lift can be externally installed to the back bumper or made to fold into the vehicle during transport.

As a person confined to a wheelchair, I know what it is like to be stuck on the ground floor, when the rest of the family is upstairs. I also understand how great it is to go out to eat with friends or simply take a ride on the interstate, and going as fast as the other people for once. With home and auto electric wheelchair lifts, you can enjoy the simple pleasures too.
