As I write this, I realize that I am slightly straining my eyes and all too often have tired eyes after spending time writing, reading, or working on my hobby. I have glasses and wear them all the time, and I make sure that I am in a well-lighted area and take the time out to rest my eyes at regular intervals. Yet I am, like millions of other aging baby-boomers, experiencing my mortal coil becoming ever more mortal as it slowly unravels in these later years of my life. As much as we would like to continue with our zest for action and keeping the bounce in our step, our bodies silently and gently shy away from the power of youthfulness and slips into a companionship with minor aches and pains combined with a touch of aged-induced deterioration.
As we grow decades older, parts of our bodies become weaker due to over-use or just nature taking its course. One part of our bodies which usually becomes weaker is our eyes. The lenses in our eyes become more brittle, making it more difficult to bend and shape into positions to be able to focus on near objects. Many people wear glasses or use reading glasses to be able to see close objects in clearer detail. Another way to help in aiding better sight with less strain is with a magnifying lamp. A magnifying lamp is just what it sounds like, a combination of a magnifying glass or device combined with a light source. These are great to use when doing all types of detail work or play. These lamps are perfect for helping an individual to clearly see sewing or knitting, model building or detailed art work, and for reading or studying maps. Magnifying lamps make great Christmas presents or an assisting device for a New Year's Resolution. The following magnifying lamps are just a few of the many that Rehabmart offers to its customers.
The Naturalight Table Magnifying Lamp incorporates a magnifying lens to enhance detail work while also using a Daylight bulb to shed light onto the work area. The Daylight bulb produces a natural full spectrum clear light that helps reduce eyestrain and glare while also improving the look of colors seen outside during a sunny day and is recommended to be used by hobbyists, low-vision users, and artists.
The ELECTRIX Lamp with Magnifier Lens can illuminate a work surface with its powerful halogen bulb while having a magnifying lens mounted on a separate gooseneck arm, allowing both or either the light or lens to be moved wherever it is needed. This light also has a heavy and stable cast zinc base which houses a safe, low-voltage transformer.
The Fresnel Stand Page Magnifier is suited for reading or reviewing detailed plans or maps. This large page-size magnifier can simply be adjusted to stand over a book or paperwork while magnifying the material twice as large, or to a 2x magnification. This can also be placed in front of a computer screen to enhance the size of the objects or words on the screen, and is additionally very useful for sewing, painting or detailed hobby work.
The Big Eye Two Arm Magnifying Floor Lamp provides a 5 inch, 2x magnification lens on one flexible arm while also providing a high intensity light on another flexible arm. Being a floor lamp, the Big Eye helps to free up extra space on the work table. This floor lamp has a telescoping base that can be adjusted from 2 ½ feet up to 5 feet.
The DAZOR Magnifying Lamp with Rolling Casters is a floor lamp with the extra convenience of being able to be rolled on its casters to wherever some extra light and magnification are needed. The 5 inch precision-ground optical glass lens minimizes distortion to images and text while also showing colors more clearly. The lamp arm can be extended from 34 inches to 42 inches in reach for better angle and maneuverability.
Lastly, we have the Luxo Wave Plus Magnifiers, offering unsurpassed quality and functionality in rectangular illuminated lens magnifiers and especially used when precise work is needed in a static-sensitive environment. The outer surfaces of the components in the head assembly have a special protective coating that alters or changes the electrical characteristics at the surface of the materials. An Anti-Reflective 3.5 diopter lens helps to dissipate glare from overhead lighting and is placed on an adjustable neck to ensure proper viewing angle and positioning. The lighting consists of two 13-watt quad compact fluorescent tubes to help light up any working area being used.
Stop the eye strain and pain and light up the holiday season with a magnifying lamp. Supposedly as people get older they are expected to become wiser, so getting something to help make life easier should make more sense than to continue to curse the darkness. Using a magnified light is the smart way to see the close and intimate world in which we work and play.
