"I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck, but my lawyer thinks he can get me five." - Steven Wright

If Steven had a glassless mirror he wouldn't need a lawyer.

Many people are not sure what glassless mirrors are or think that they are something that has just been invented.  Well, a glassless mirror is just that, a mirror with no glass.

A glassless mirror is made by coating a polyester film with aluminum in a vacuum to ensure a thin, even coating and then stretching this over a frame to make it perfectly flat and almost perfectly reflective.  This polyester film does not shatter or break into shards when it is dropped or when something is impacted against it.

Glassless mirrors provide a super clear, high definition image and are very bright compared to glass or plastic mirrors.

In the early 1960's, a joint project by the Imperial Chemical Industries and British Aerospace developed the glassless mirror to lighten the payload for aircraft.  One way to do this was to substitute the glass bathroom mirrors in the aircraft with this lightweight substitute.  For example, a standard 4' x 6' plate glass mirror weighs approximately 72 pounds while the same size glassless mirror weighs only about 10 pounds.

Although glassless mirrors have many functions, the majority of them are used in dance studios where they work particularly well because a large mirror is needed, but the weight and shattering glass of a plate glass mirror can be dangerous. This problem is alleviated with a glassless mirror.

Rehabmart offers several different styles of glassless mirrors.  The Glassless Mirrors Wall Mounting Mirror is a large, glassless mirror which comes in ten different sizes.

And at a fraction of what a plate glass mirror of the same size weighs, these glassless mirrors can be mounted or installed onto a wall or ceiling in only minutes.
Some other style options are a Glassless Mirrors Tri-Fold Mirror which is available in both two or three panes and several different sizes.  Or a Glassless Mirrors Floor Stand Mirror  which can be mounted on a floor stand and come in nine different sizes.  Another great choice is the Glassless Mirrors Rolling Stand Mirror which are mounted on rolling stands so that they may be stored out of the way when not in use.  These glassless mirrors also come in nine different sizes.

There are many varied uses for glassless mirrors due to their lighter weight, brightness and almost perfect reflection qualities.  They are used in telescopes and projection televisions, and are also utilized for stage productions and scenery, dressing rooms, fashion shows, merchandising displays, dance and exercise studios, home and commercial gyms, playrooms, ceilings, lobbies, night clubs, casinos, educational facilities, public restrooms, physical therapy facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, and for theatrical lighting.

So, if you are a business owner or would like to have a safe mirror that you can put just about anywhere in your house, 'look into a glassless mirror' as an option.

"You see a person when you look in the mirror that no one sees but you. Other people see a person when they look at you, but you're not that person, either."
