Whether a child with mobility issues needs a little support as he or she learns to walk, or requires the stability of a fully equipped gait trainer, the Snug Seat Crocodile Gait Trainer provides an ideal way to allow him or her to develop the balance and motor skills needed for walking.

Unlike conventional walkers and gait trainers, the Crocodile offers support from the back to facilitate greater freedom of movement while standing straight. Its wheels are designed to cover a wide variety of terrain, including concrete and gravel, allowing the child a greater opportunity to explore the world, increasing independence and in turn, self-esteem.

The Crocodile is available in three sizes and two fun colors, yellow and orange, as well as a sophisticated metallic black. The Size 3 is suitable for older children and adults up to 71 inches tall and comes in metallic grey only. Standard features include height and width adjustable rotational handles with grips, a lightweight frame made of aluminum that easily folds for transport, friction adjustable rear wheels that may be locked to prevent unintended backwards motion, swiveling front castors, and a padded rear stabilizer bar. The handles can be positioned close to the child's body to provide maximum support. No tools are required for making the adjustments. Easily locked and unlocked wheel stops on the front provide directional stability for children with poor balance and motor control, and as with the rear wheels, prevents the Crocodile and its users from inadvertently going backwards and keeps them traveling in a straight line.

The standard package is perfect for a child who needs a little posterior support while walking. The Crocodile Complete package comes with all the standard features plus a sling seat, pelvic pad, lateral supports and strap, and forearm supports with handgrips. The supports may be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically to accommodate growth in both directions. Other available accessories include hand brakes, a storage bag, anti-tip devices, and a handle to enable the caregiver to help with balance and direction.

Care of the Crocodile is quite simple. Make sure the Allen screws are tight, and wash the frame using a car washing detergent or dishwashing liquid. If it has picked up a lot of dirt, a degreasing solution may be used.

Customer reviews have been positive. One reviewer, who is the mother of a ten-year-old with cerebral palsy as well as a pediatric physical therapist, said that her child has been using the Crocodile in its various sizes and that it had truly enhanced her life. She has been able to negotiate all kinds of terrain and flooring safely and easily. The reviewer believes that her daughter would not have as much independence had she used a different gait trainer.

The independence that a Crocodile brings to a child facing the challenges of mobility impairment helps develop the self-confidence and -esteem that comes with a sense of autonomy. The song from "Peter Pan" advised listeners to "never smile at a crocodile;" however, this is one Crocodile that can make anyone crack a smile.
