Portable Hyperbaric Chambers for the Home
Hyperbaric medicine, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), is the medical use of oxygen at a level higher than atmospheric pressure. HBOT is designed to increase the supply of oxygen to ischemic or diseased tissues in the body that respond to increased oxygen levels. Boosting the volume of oxygen dissolved in the blood plasma produces effects which include a reduction of the volume of gas bubbles in the blood, vasoconstriction which reduces edema and secondary hypoxia, restoration of aerobic metabolism to ischemic tissues, detoxification of diseased or poisoned tissues and enhanced phagocytosis.
This therapy was originally designed for divers to help prevent decompression sickness (also known as "the bends") and embolisms, but is also now widely employed by the medical community to help treat all kinds of diseases and health issues. Carbon monoxide poisoning, burns, radiation injuries, necrotizing soft tissue infections, crush injuries and other acute traumatic ischemias are often treated with HBOT. Other conditions and diseases that often respond very favorably to HBOT are altitude sickness, diabetes and diabetes-related illnesses such as neuropathy and retinopathy, Lyme disease, migraines, multiple sclerosis, autism, cerebral palsy, intracranial abscesses and some types of hearing loss.
Many people get regular HBOT treatments for their various conditions, often having to travel to hospitals or special clinics for this therapy. But now these folks can enjoy the benefits of hyperbaric therapy right in their own home with portable, "soft" chambers which are specifically designed for personal, home use. Mild personal hyperbaric chambers have a lower pressure than "hard" chambers that are used in hospitals and clinics, but have been shown to be very effective at treating all of the same kinds of conditions and diseases.
Rehabmart is proud to offer the OxyHealth line of personal hyperbaric chambers. OxyHealth changed the ways that the medical community practices hyperbaric medicine. They began making these portable chambers 25 years ago and are now decades ahead of the competition in innovation, safety and usability. They take the "work" out of operating a hyperbaric chamber with their user-friendly designs that continue to entice doctors and patients alike. No wonder that OxyHealth chambers are the number one chamber chosen by families, physicians and clinics!
