The AAMI has updated their standards to reflect changes in apparel and draping test procedures. The gowns, coveralls, and drapes are used to protect medical personnel and patients from contact with bodily fluids during surgery and other procedures where they may come into play, offering the wearers a higher level of preventing exposure to potentially infectious materials. The new tests include measurements for the amount of fluid that seeps through the fabric and how long it takes to do so. Rehabmart offers several styles of protective apparel for the health care industry.

Isolation Gowns come in yellow (not shown in image), and are available in regular and extra-large sizes. Features include cuffs made from knitted fabric to ensure a snug fit, ties at the neck and waist, and sewn seams to make them fluid repellent as well as strong and durable. The fabric is free of latex.  They come in packages of ten or cases of fifty. Their level of protection would be suitable for visitors to patients confined to isolation rooms in hospitals or long-term care facilities.

AAMI Level 3 Isolation Gowns
come in cases of fifty in the customer's choice of regular/large or extra-large. They are made of blue Kazzmere, a fluid-resistant, breathable material that holds up to the most challenging of circumstances. Knit cuffs hold the sleeves in place at the wrists, and long waist ties and hook and eye fasteners keep the back securely closed. The seams are heat sealed to ensure strength. The purple neck binding lets the user and the patient know that the gown received Level 3 designation for protection.

These styles would be suitable for use in health care facilities or in private homes where patients may be receiving medical support.
