Pediatric Treatment Tables

 

For many children, going to a doctor is not as fun as going to a friend's birthday party.  Usually at a birthday party a child doesn't get stuck with a needle. Well, maybe while during a game of 'pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey' and the kid is standing too close to the donkey he might feel a stick of a pin, but normally, a party is a happy place for a child. The doctors office, not so happy. Nonetheless, going to the doctors office is one of life's growing experiences, and a treatment table, being a central object within the exam room, is part of this experience. An exam table is a huge table that he must be lifted up to. A table where he is told to lie down on so a strange man or woman in a white coat can probe and examine him.  A type of table which is foreign to him. A place where there aren't any birthday cakes, cartoons to watch, or games to be played. A doctor's treatment table is where the cold, sterile, shiny reality of life can disrupt the comfortable and carefree feelings of childhood.

The next three examples of the many pediatric treatment tables that Rehabmart offers are creative, colorful, and, believe it or not, fun. Looking at these tables makes me wonder why they don't offer these type of tables for adults as well! The first example is the Clinton Photo Series Pediatric Treatment Tables. The Photo Series Pediatric Exam Tables have amazing graphics providing a huge photo for children to enjoy. So now when children come to the doctor's office they won't have to be bribed with a lollipop to feel good about the visit. They will take one look at one of these pediatric treatment tables and hop right on, allowing their imaginations to take them away from the reality of the sterile, foreign and often frightening world of doctor visits. As most parents and health care professionals know, a happy child is a helpful child during an examination.
